Get a whiff of this—director Robert Rodriguez nose knows everyone is going to think his upcoming new Spy Kids flick stinks.
And he wants it that way.

He hopes to take audiences to the fourth dimension with the ability to smell Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World. A ticket to the latest installment of the hit franchise (in theaters Aug. 19) comes with an Aromascope card. As a number flashes on the screen, moviegoers will rub the corresponding number on the card and—voilà!—the scent is released.
"Now that everybody is doing 3-D, I was like, 'We gotta do something else. I want to go the fourth dimension,'" Rodriguez told me earlier today.
He thought back to the time he saw the "Odorama" version of John Waters' Polyester in 1982. "It was the older technology of Scratch and Sniff where everything smelled the same by the third sniff," Rodriguez said. "But it's changed a lot. The new technology is amazing. Smells don't mix together. I was happy and relieved to find that great minds have actually been working on it."
Rodriguez promises Spy Kids (starring folks like Jessica Alba, Jeremy Piven and E!'s own Joel McHale) will offer a wide range of scents. "When we asked kids about it, they said, 'You gotta do something really gross,'" Rodriguez said, laughing. "We do have a Spy Dog and a Spy Baby, so you could kind of figure out where it can go."
In other words, expect Spy Kids 4 to be a real gas.

Brad Pitt's Got Himself a Beautiful New (Movie) Wife

Remember the other day there was all that chatter about Brad Pitt wearing a wedding band?
As most his fans know by now, the little gold number has absolutely nothing to do with him marrying Angelina Jolie, but rather...

It's all about his work opposite The Killing's Mireille Enos, who plays Mr. Pitt's wife in World War Z.
And guess who we met for the first time the other day at the Critics' Choice Television Awards? Yup, Ms. Enos. While we didn't talk about her television series' controversial cliffhanger, we did get to chattin' about Brad.
Like Jessica Chastain had the pleasure of doing in The Tree of Life, Enos gets to lock lips with Angie's main man, too.
"There is a goodbye kiss, but no love scenes," Enos said. "Everybody is like, 'You have to take notes on that.'"
Um, that certainly doesn't sound like Enos' style. "It's just going to be another day at work," the redheaded beauty smiled. "He's the sweetest, loveliest guy."
She'll film with Pitt later this summer in London. (FYI: She'll probably have about a month of vacation before The Killing resumes shooting in November).
While the flick is about a zombie epidemic (Pitt plays a journalist trying to save his family and figure out what the heck is going on), it's no campy horror flick.
"It's about zombie apocalypse, but then it's also a really smart story about the political structure of the world and what our government does and doesn't deal with when there's a crisis situation," Enos explained. "It's action-packed and it's also super, super dark."

Joe Jonas Wants to Be a Movie Star, Too

Just because Joe Jonas has embarked on a solo singing career that doesn't mean he's given up on acting.
"I really hope to find a role that will be right," he told me the other day while promoting his debut single, "See No More."

"There's a role that I've been creating with my friend," Jonas said. "I've had this idea for a long time and, well, he's a famous movie producer so we're like, 'Let's just get a writer and make it happen.'
"So this writer and I have started working together," he continued. "He's doing a great job and really close to finishing the final draft. We'll see how the record plays out and then take two months to film the new movie."
For now, though, it really is about the music. Adele is on the top of Jonas' wish list of other artists he'd like to work with. "I've been a big fan of hers for a long time," he said. "She's unbelievable. She can just sit there and sing and she'll kill it."
On the other side of the spectrum is British rapper Tinie Tempah. "I think if anybody stole my iPod, they'd probably be upset because I'm so all over the place," he laughed.
Jonas recalls when—back in January 2010—he first told me he was thinking of pulling and Nick and going out on his own.
"I do remember that actually," he said. "I kept it under wraps for quite a while and then at the beginning of January I started really getting into it and started working with some producers and time just flew by."
At the height of recording, he put together 40 songs, which he eventually dwindled down to about 20. "Then we cut that down and cut that down until it was really a perfect product," Jonas said.
What happens to all those other tunes?
"They're out there for people," he said. "If an artist wants to use them that's kind of the idea, like somebody like [Australian teen pop star] Cody Simpson. It there's something that I might feel like, 'OK, this might be perfect for them,' I'll send it to them to see what they think and it's up to them to cut if they want."
Sounds like Cody Simpson may be hearing from Jonas any day now.

Tom Cruise to star in movie adaptation of Rock Of Ages

Tom Cruise has reportedly signed on to star in the movie adaptation of popular stage musical ‘Rock Of Ages’.
The actor will play Stacee Jaxx in the film, and belt out Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive, reports Contactmusic.
Matt Weaver, who co-created Rock of Ages, is thrilled with the casting: “He’s got an awesome voice! He’s got an awesome attitude.
“He’s embracing it, he’s getting into character, he’s doing his research. He’s ready to go back to 1986!” (ANI)

George Clooney wants fans in his new movie

London, Feb 5 – Want to be in George Clooney’s next movie? Then pay close attention!
The Hollywood hunk is giving fans the chance to appear alongside him in his latest movie, ‘The Ides of March’.
He wants to share the experience with his loyal fans by offering fans bit-parts in the film, reports the Daily Express.
However, there’s set to be disappointment for many movie hopefuls – 16,000 budding actors have already applied for a minor role.
The open casting session is taking place in Cincinnati, Ohio today.
Filming is due to begin in the city next month (Mar11).
The ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star is stepping behind the camera to direct the political drama, and will also take the onscreen role of Governor Mike Morris. (ANI)

Halle Berry ‘dropped out of movie to avoid leaving daughter with ex’

New York, Feb 05 – Halle Berry dropped out of upcoming flick, ‘New Year’s Eve’, due to concerns over leaving her daughter with ex Gabriel Aubry in Los Angeles, according to reports.
The ensemble film would have allowed for both Aubry and Nahla, 2, to join Berry during its production in New York, but Aubry suddenly decided he didn’t want to make the trip, adding to their ongoing custody issues, reports People mag.
“When Gabriel refused to go, that became a factor in her decision to pull out of the film,” the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying.
“She didn’t feel right leaving Nahla.”
And though Berry’s scenes were supposed to take just two weeks to film, the source explained that “no job is that important to Halle.”
“Nahla comes first,” the insider added. (ANI)

Dynasty's Joan Collins Talks New Movie, Wants Chris Pine

The creators of the 1980s primetime soap Dynasty are developing a big-screen adaptation of the series, as I was first to report yesterday.
Esther and Richard Shapiro's flick would be a prequel centered on a young Blake Carrington and his first wife Alexis.
Well, I just chatted with the original ruthless and bitchy Alexis—Joan Collins!

For Alexis, Collins thinks onetime Bond Girl and new face of G-Star, Gemma Arterton, would be perfect.
"She has all the qualities that Alexis needs," she exclusively told me from Birmingham, England, where she's costarring in stage show Dick Whittington. "She's sexy. She looks clever and she's kind of vixenous."
As for Blake (originally played by the late John Forsythe), Collins said, "I do think Chris Pine would be great as Blake. He's a wonderful actor."
Collins said she'd love to play Alexis again. "I certainly couldn't play her in a prequel in the 1960s," the 77-year-old Hollywood icon said, laughing. "But I always thought they should do it today with Alexis' grandchildren, who about 20 years ago were five and six."
